Concert Review: All Time Low at MSG

Last Tuesday was the last date of All Time Low's Back to the Future Hearts Tour. After 29 tour dates, the band ended their tour at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. My friends and I have been a big fan of All Time Low since we were in high school, so we felt like it was my obligation to go see them.
Because we all had classes, we couldn't wait in line all day. Instead we all decided we would meet up an hour before doors opened. Doors opened at 6PM. 5PM came around, and we were all in different parts of Manhattan. In the end, we all agreed to just meet up on line. Literally ten minutes before doors, we all met up at the back of the line. Since we were at the back of the line, my friends and I expected to be at the back of the GA pit. We didn't mind it at all since All Time Low concerts consits of moshpits and crowdsurfers. However, that wasn't the case.
After going through security, scanning our tickets, get our general admission wristbands; we finally were able to find a spot in the pit. To our surprise, the GA pit was partially empty. We all managed to score spots in the third row (crossing our fingers that the pit wouldn't be insane).

Neck Deep kicked off the concert. To be honest, I completely zoned out during their concert. I honestly did not pay attention to their performance (I honestly feel bad about that). It also seemed like most of the crowd to seem to pay much attention to them either.
Once they were done, Sleeping With Sirens went on to perform. My fifteen-year-old self was fangirling over this moment. I also wasn't the only one. The crowd was excited for their performance. Although there was a lot of excitement, there was no sign of pushing whatsoever (except for that huge push at the beginning of their set). Their performance was amazing. The production of lights and fog machines fascinated me. And although I vaguely remember most of their songs, it was awesome seeing people in the crowd singing along. The song that I did know all the words by heart was their last song of their set 'If You Can't Hang'. That one song was the highlight of SWS's performance.
Finally, once the roadies were clearing up the set, a wave of anticipation kicked into the crowd. This was the moment that everyone at MSG was waiting for. All Time Low was about to perform. They opened up with 'Satellite', one of their songs from their latest album 'Future Hearts'. Yes, they played some of their more popular songs. However, unlike their last tour, they played more songs from their last album. It didn't matter to most of the people that were there, they still played an INCREDIBLE show.
There were so many parts of the night that I enjoyed. One of the main parts was when Alex Gaskarth (singer of All Time Low) gave the audience the choice between seeing 'Remembering Sunday' or 'Therapy' live. "This is the part of the show where it becomes interactie," said Gaskarth. Both are incredible songs to listen to (especially live). It took about a good five to ten minutes before the cheers of those wanting to listen to 'Remembering Sunday' (including myself). In the end, he performed both songs. "Fuck it. It's the last day of tour."
I also enjoyed seeing Jack Barakat (lead guitarist) throughout the entire concert. He did a lot of stupid things on stage, some of which I will not describe because it's just inappropriate. Even though for the most part it was inappropriate, it was still fun to watch. It was even more entertaining to see Alex making fun of Jack on stage. A prime example of this was when Alex knocked over Jack's mic stand in the middle of a song.

Overall, this concert has got to be one of my favorites. Madison Square Garden is one of my favorite venues I've gone to. Security was nice and did not make entering the building a struggle. Getting a close spot for the concert was a breeze. There was no moshing or crowdsurfing AT ALL. That was the most surprising thing of the night. To be honest, I enjoyed the concert more without all of that craziness. Although, a small chunk of myself wishes that someone could have crowdsurfed to the front.
Just in general, All Time Low has a special place in my heart. They were technically the first band I ever liked (if you excluded the beautiful lads of One Direction). They stay true to who they are and that's what I like. I'm glad that I found out about them six years ago, and I'm hope to still continue to listen to them as I grow older.
Until the next All Time Low show ✌
