Last Thursday, I was about to attend Charlie Puth's concert at The Studio at Webster Hall. At the time, the only songs I knew from him was "See You Again" (by Wiz Khalifa) and "Marvin Gaye" (feat. Meghan Trainer). My friend, on the other hand, has obsessed with him for a while now and asked me to go with her. To top thing off, I bought her and myself VIP upgrades in order for early entry and a meet-and-greet.

We arrived at the venue hoping to find a line developing. However, we arrived to being the first ones there. As an hour or two went by, only three people showed up after us. The five of us quickly began a conversation to kill the time – shoutout to Anna, Chris, Dani and Zach!

Check-in for VIP was at 5:30 PM, so once 5:00 PM came around, more people were slowly appearing. Security for Webster Hall showed up to divide into general admission and VIP. Obviously when they say 5:30 PM, they don't always start at exactly 5:30PM. Usually takes the workers from the VIP company about ten minutes. However, it took them about THRITY MINUTES. It's at this point that everyone waiting on the VIP line is getting frustrated.

Once in, we were lead to the back of the venue, where we had to wait for another thirty minutes. Anxiety started to kick in for everyone, as they were nervous about seeing one of their favorite artists in the music industry. I for one, am never great at holding a conversation (especially if that person is famous). And being the first one on the meet-and-greet line made the anxiety even higher for me. Nonetheless, I was able to talk to him for a bit before I was escorted out towards the stage. At that moment, I managed to score a spot in the front row (as did my four friends!!!).

Once the VIP meet-and-greets were over, general admission was finally let in. Everything was going well at this point. Everyone was chill, talking among themselves. It made waiting for the FRANKIE to take the stage. Once on, she brought so much energy to her set. She did an amazing job interacting with the audience. It is rare for me to enjoy the opening act. I have to say, FRANKIE exceeded my expectations. After FRANKIE was done performing, the crowd began to get even more excited. People from the back began to push, yet it was bearable.

Finally, Charlie Puth went on stage and began with "Some Type of Love" followed by "I Won't Tell a Soul". Song after song, he kept impressing me and everyone else at the venue. It was such a fascinating thing to see everyone singing along to every single song he performed. Along with his original songs, Charlie covered both "Can't Feel My Face" and "Hotline Bling". Throughout the entire night, Charlie stressed the importance of family. How important they are and how they'll always have your back. His speech on family made me want to call my parents in the middle of the concert to see how they were doing.

Once he began singing "See You Again," we all know the concert was reaching the end. He explained the process of writing this song. How it was solely based on his emotions when his best friend died. How emotional and choked up he got when speaking about these events. In that moment, it taught me that it doesn't matter if you've healed from the loss of someone that was close in your life. The pain and grief will still exist. As he closed off the night with the single that got him recongnized in the music industry, the entire audience sang along with him.

Overall, this concert was one of my favorites. I was amazed by the Charlie Puth's performance. I really loved seeing him sing "Marvin Gaye", "Nothing But Trouble [Instagram Models]", and "See You Again" on his own. I felt that these songs sounded much better than with the originals. I also enjoyed seeing how down-to-earth he was and how grateful he was for his family and his fans.

Charlie Puth has got to be one of the most relatable artists out there. I would definitely go and see him again.
